MBAGATHI HOSPITAL LABORATORY ISO 15189:2022 ACCREDITATION

Mbagathi Hospital Laboratory today celebrated its ISO 15189:2022 accreditation and team building at Lake Naivasha Resort.
Led by Mr. Martin, the team united to honour their achievements and reaffirm their unwavering commitment to excellence in healthcare.In attendance were Mrs Agnes Mwaregoki and Dr. Erica from the hospital administration, Procurement I/C Suzanne Jowie,ICT rep,Biomed Rep,Mr. Marebe from the County Government, and partners from the Association of Public Health Laboratories.

NEGLECTED WOMEN DISEASES CAMPAIGN

On Monday, Decker Medical Trust and partners launched a campaign with Mbagathi County Hospital to raise awareness of neglected women’s diseases in Nairobi. This initiative, supported by the Nairobi City County Government, addresses the alarming statistic that over 800 million women globally lack access to essential healthcare, leading to countless preventable deaths. The campaign will continue until September 26th

MBAGATHI HOSPITAL AND GREAT LAKES UNIVERSITY OF KISUMU SIGNS MOU ON STUDENTS PLACEMENTS.

Mbagathi County Referral Hospital and Great Lakes University of Kisumu have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate student placements.This collaboration will enable students from the Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and other health programs at Great Lakes University to gain valuable hands-on experience at the hospital, enhancing their practical skills and professional development in a real-world healthcare setting.

Nairobi County Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Centre

True to H.E Gov Sakaja’s promise of a City of hope to the great people of Nairobi, today, the newly established Nairobi County Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Centre is ready and was formally handed over to Mbagathi Hospital, a milestone led by CECM for Health, Wellness, and Nutrition, Ms. Suzanne Silantoi @Dr.Silantoi CCEM , accompanied by county health officials among them Dr Kibe, Dr Mogoi and Dr Maingi. The Mbagathi Hospital team was led by the CEO, Dr Alex Irungu and included Medical Superintendent Dr Athumani and senior management staff. This crucial development will significantly deliver diagnostic precision and treatment outcomes for cancer patients, and will be managed under Mbagathi County Hospital.

PHYSIOTHERAPY NEW EQUIPMENT

In honor of World Physiotherapy Day on September 8th, with its theme being low back pain management, Mbagathi Hospital has upgraded its equipments. The hospital has introduced a state-of-the-art adjustable treatment table, an electric pedal exerciser, and foam rollers, enhancing its commitment to providing innovative solutions for effective low back pain treatment.

MBAGATHI HOSPITAL JOINT COLLABORATION WITH DECKERMED AFRICA TRUST

Mbagathi County Hospital has signed a memorandum of understanding with Deckermed Africa Trust in a collaboration to diagnose, screen, and treat disorders collectively known as Neglected Women’s Diseases (NWD). They will jointly run outreach camps to vulnerable women in Nairobi County and surrounding regions, with Mbagathi Hospital being the referral center. The signing event was witnessed by HoD Clinical Services Dr Ericah, HoD Obstetrics & Gynecology Dr Watau among other senior management staff.

COUNTY HEALTH RESEARCH INSTITUTE ESTABLISHMENT AT MBAGATHI HOSPITAL

H.E. Gov Sakaja hosted KEMRI leadership led by Board Chairman Dr Ibrahim & Director General Prof Songok in a meeting with County Health Sector Executive led by CECM Ms. Silantoi. The discussion was a culmination of several conversations towards establishment of a County Health Research Institute to be domiciled ag Mbagathi Hospital . The hospital team was led by the CEO,Dr Alex Irungu and included HOD Clinical Services, Dr Ericah and laboratory manager, Mr Maitima.

H.E GOVERNOR SAKAJA, EGH VISIT

H.E Governor Sakaja visited Mbagathi Hospital and expressed happiness for the numerous improvements going on as he commissioned its first CT-Scan ,inspected progress on the new ICU wing,launched the concluded oxygen piping and conducted ground breaking for new dental unit and a doctors’ lounge. H.E was impressed by the enormous upgrade of technology in the laboratory including a platelets agitator, biochemical analyser among other equipment, where doctors no longer refer patients elsewhere for tests or procedures.The Hospital CEO Dr Alex Irungu thanked H.E ,on behalf of the board, management and staff for his continued support and guidance.H.E was accompanied by CECM Silantoi, CCOs Mosiria and Nyakaba, County Dentist and Dr Muriuki

KDIC DONATION TOWARDS NEW BORN CARE

In pursuit of H.E Gov. Sakaja’s health care vision,Mbagathi Hospital led by the CEO, Dr Alex Irungu, Head of Clinical Services Dr Ericah Koima and Pedetrician, Dr Meme received its first consignment of donations from KDIC that included 10 baby bassinets,2 infant warmers, and 2 phototherapy units.The hospital has established strong strategic partnerships with corporates towards patient-centered care, and enhanced clinical outcomes.
