Mbagathi County Referral Hospital today hosted a benchmarking team from Wamalwa Kijana Teaching and Referral Hospital, Trans Nzoia County, who visited to learn about working public health care systems, specifically the hospital’s outsourced cleaning services model.

The delegation was received by Medical Superintendent Dr. Ericah Koima, Hospital Administrator Mrs Agnes Mwageroki, Nursing Services Manager Lynette Kinara , and the Public Health Officer Elijah Ouma, who shared insights and best practices aimed at strengthening service delivery through out-sourced strategic partnerships and knowledge exchange.

The visting team appreciated the Governor’s leadership, Hospital management model and the extra- ordinary hospital cleanliness.

NEST 360 SUPERVISION VISIT ON THE ONGOING MATERNITY AND CHILD HEALTH ULTRA MODERN WING CONSTRUCTION

Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding under the NEST360 Programme, the delegation toured the ongoing Maternity and Child Health Ultra Modern Wing being constructed through the support of Safaricom Foundation at Mbagathi County Referral Hospital.

The visit provided an opportunity to assess the progress of the project, which is expected to significantly enhance maternity and Child health services by expanding capacity and improving access to quality care towards H.E Governor Sakajas Manifesto.

Once complete, the facility will further strengthen the hospital’s ability to provide safe, efficient, and patient-centered maternity services.

Mbagathi County Referral Hospital marked a significant milestone with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aga Khan University Kenya under the NEST360 Programme.

The partnership establishes a framework for collaboration aimed at improving newborn health outcomes by enhancing access to quality neonatal care, strengthening health systems, promoting evidence-based practices, and building the capacity of healthcare workers.

The MoU was signed by Mbagathi Hospital CEO Dr. Alexander Irungu and Prof. William Macharia, NEST360 Kenya Country Lead at Aga Khan University, in the presence of hospital and Ministry of Health officials. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing maternal and newborn healthcare and ensuring every newborn has a healthier start to life.
