QATAR CHARITY VISIT TO SUPPORT NUTRITION INITIATIVES

Mbagathi County Hospital was honoured to host a high-level delegation from Qatar Charity, both from HQ Doha and the Kenya Office, as part of their mission to assess and map the nutrition needs in Kenya, with a key focus on addressing malnutrition among children in vulnerable populations.

The delegation was warmly received by the hospital’s CEO, Dr. Alex Irungu, alongside Madam Jessica Mbochi, County Nutrition Coordinator; Mrs. Julie Koroso, Head of Nutrition Department; Mr. Bering Ochieng, Kibra Sub-County Nutrition Coordinator; and other dedicated hospital staff.

As part of their visit, the team toured the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) clinics within the outpatient department, where they had the opportunity to engage with clients and observe frontline interventions. They also visited the paediatric ward, meeting children admitted with severe acute malnutrition complications.

The Hospital CEO, along with the entire Hospital Management Team (HMT), expressed sincere gratitude to Qatar Charity for their generosity and for their commitment to strengthening nutrition systems in Kenya. This visit marks the beginning of a promising collaboration aimed at improving the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community.
